Experience the Wild Heart of Zambia
Home to lions, leopards, elephants, hippos, and over 400 bird species. South Luangwa is one of Africa's last truly wild places — and we put you right in the middle of it.
Royal South Luangwa Safaris Lodge was born from a deep reverence for Zambia's untamed wilderness. Set on the doorstep of South Luangwa National Park — the birthplace of the walking safari — we offer an intimate, authentic African experience that marries genuine luxury with raw nature.
Our lodge is designed to immerse you in the sights, sounds, and rhythms of the African bush. From the call of fish eagles at dawn to the distant rumble of elephant herds at dusk, every moment here is a gift from the wild.
Each room is a private retreat — thoughtfully designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding bush while enveloping you in understated elegance.

Every day follows the rhythm of the bush — early starts, lazy middays, and magical evenings.
A wake-up call before dawn, steaming tea or coffee, then out into the park before sunrise. Morning drives are when the bush is most alive — lions patrolling, elephants at the waterhole, birds filling the air. Return by 10am for a full breakfast.
A leisurely Full English or continental breakfast at the lodge. Then — pool, spa treatments, wildlife viewing from the grounds, a walk through the gardens, or simply nothing at all. This time is yours.
Lunch under the shade of tall trees or at our poolside terrace. The afternoon heat calls for a proper African siesta — no alarm clock required.
Optional activities: village tour, cooking class, spa massage, or the pool as the air cools. Sunset drives depart at 4pm — a golden-hour journey through the park as herds move to water and the light turns everything amber.
Night game drives reveal the park's nocturnal world — leopards, civets, genets, and owls. Back at the lodge: dinner under the stars, a crackling bonfire, and traditional Zambian cultural entertainment. A perfect end to a perfect day.
Every experience is led by expert local guides. Use the Safari Builder to compose your perfect itinerary — we'll handle everything else.
